July and August NIDA news

Check out the latest edition of Addiction News via the National Institute on Drug Abuse website:

The highlights include:

-Two articles (one in July and one in August) highlighting events in the brain that lead up to drug addiction (specifically cocaine addiction) – researchers are looking at molecules that regulate cocaine uptake in the brain. If we know how it happens (the uptake), we can learn how to stop it from happening (how to stop the uptake). Stopping the uptake would mean no addiction (?). Wow.
